Mind in Virtual Reality

Everything started with young Caio.

Little Caio had a dream with a new world, new possibilities, and a safe world where he is relevant, and other people have the same relevance. And his dream inspired this experiment, a fusion with mind and virtual reality.

What’s the idea?

I had a chance to try a technology with mind controls called Emotiv Epoc + to sync with Virtual Reality like Jonny Quest 1996, Code Lyoko, Hunter x Hunter Greed Island, Sword Art Online, Ready Player One, and more.

I used my knowledge in development to build a prototype using a Brain-wear headset in order to get brain waves communication with a computer. The experiment goal is to make it possible to create accessible VR games for people with reduced mobility to enter a massive multiplayer platform to walk, run, fight with creatures, discover, create a new adventure in their lives, and also meet friends!

What did I do?

This is the first step into one beautiful technology for the future. I managed to do this experiment walking in virtual reality using my power of thinking! Ok, in this version you had to turn your head. On the other hand, the movement controls were fully in your mind.

The next steps using brain-wave are: move arms, move legs, and control interfaces. After finishing the main movements I will create a simple multiplayer game lobby to make simple social meetings. When this base has been completed, let’s create a fantasy universe with vehicles, fantasy creatures, fantastic powers, and much more!

Preparation

The gear isn’t simple to use, you need to train the software with your brain waves to the computer understand what you want to do. Everyone has his own wave pattern.

The first thing you need to do is to lubricate all pins and set them in your head. Then verify if all pins are correct and detecting the brain waves individually.

Now you are ready to train and use the software. Yes, this step sounds simple, to set everything up correctly you spend around 5 minutes. And no, you don’t have to shave your head! I only did it because I like it! 😀

The final

For this experiment, I just walk, but right now I’m trying to get some investments to continue my experiments and develop the platform so people with deficient mobility can play and interact with other people.
